Pune, 22 September 2025 – Triumph Motorcycles, with over 120 years of motorcycling heritage, today announced that its popular 400cc range will continue at the same ex-showroom prices. This decision follows the recent upward GST revision from 28% to 40% on motorcycles above 350cc. In what comes as a surprise move for many in the industry, Triumph and Bajaj Auto have chosen to absorb the impact entirely, ensuring that ownership costs remain unaffected.
This move is noteworthy for India’s fast-growing mid-capacity motorcycle segment, where the Triumph Speed 400, Speed T4, Scrambler 400X and the newly launched Thruxton 400 have carved out a strong position since their launch. Their combination of classic design, modern performance, and overall refinement has made them favourites among new-age riders and contributed to Triumph’s sustained growth in India over the past two years.
Speaking on the announcement, Mr. Manik Nangia, President Probiking, Bajaj Auto Ltd said, “The Triumph 400 cc platform has set new benchmarks in performance, design, and value. Even with the GST increase, we wanted to ensure that riding enthusiasts are not discouraged by higher costs. By holding prices steady, Triumph and Bajaj Auto are taking this step in the interest of customers, reaffirming our commitment to growing the Triumph brand in India.”
When combined with long intervals between service, low service costs, the power of global engineering, built-in world-class facilities in Chakan, and now no increase in ex-showroom prices, Triumph continues to deliver outstanding value in their class. This measured step not only strengthens Triumph’s customer-first philosophy but also reflects the long-term vision of Bajaj Auto Ltd. to expand the reach of world-class motorcycles in India.
