1. Bajaj motorcycles sales grew 24% owing to the strong performance of its 125cc+ DTS-i portfolio; combined sales of Pulsar, Avenger, Discover, and XCD grew 34%.

2. Consequently, in the 125cc+ segment which is now approximately 36% of the motorcycle industry, Bajaj continues to lead with a market share of approximately 50%.

3. Bajaj’s immediate strategy is to introduce 4 well positioned 125cc+ motorcycles in FY09 in its endeavour to expand the 125cc+ segment to represent 50% of the industry by March’09.

4. Lackluster market conditions continue to cause degrowth in Commercial Vehicles.

5. Strong export growth is expected to continue this year with exports expected at over 800,000 units.
