1. Owing to growth across all segments and regions, Bajaj motorcycles sold 187,000 units in December 2006, registering a 26% growth over December 2005 sales of 148,000 units.

2. This was in sharp contrast to the flat/negative sales growth registered by other major motorcycle manufacturers, thereby leading to a significant gain in market share for Bajaj motorcycles to 35.5%.

3. Expecting this trend in favour of its products to continue for some time, Bajaj is expanding motorcycle capacity to 300,000 units / month by April 2007.

4. The Bajaj Kristal DTS-i, the first product from an all new hi-tech scooter platform, will be launched in January 2007.

5. 3-Wheeler and Export sales continue to exceed expectation, and this trend appears likely to be maintained in the next quarter as well.

At 738,000 2- & 3-wheelers, Bajaj sales in October-December 2006 were the highest ever in its history.
