1. Bajaj motorcycle retail, notably of the Bajaj XCD 125 DTS-Si and the Bajaj Platina, continues to be brisk even post festive season. However, billing has been constrained by the lower production arising out of Plant closures during Diwali.

2. The capacity expansion for the Bajaj XCD 125 DTS-Si to 75000 units per month will be completed in December 2007. Consequently, it is expected that from this month onwards motorcycle sales will once again show positive year on year growth.

3. The 125 cc – 250 cc motorcycles now represent close to 50% of the motorcycle industry, and Bajaj’s leading market share in this profitable segment is expected to be even greater with the expansion of the Bajaj XCD 125 DTS-Si.

4. The continuing de-growth in 3-wheelers reflects the sluggish state of that market.

5. Exports continue to exhibit strong growth.
