4. More thrills and views at Cherrapunji!
If you want to extend your Shillong trip, stay there for the night and early the next day, ride ahead to Cherrapunji. It’s a short ride, just 56 km, but this one hour trip will be unique. The route is through steep hills, with narrow roads and sharp turns with stunning views throughout. You can stop for a break at the Khasi Restaurant, run by Khasi women. After eating, start riding, and be sure to sport the magnificent view of the massive Nohnsnglthiang Falls near the Mowsmai village.
When you get to main Cherrapunji, you’ll see a combination of valleys and waterfalls, caves and canyons. And of course, the world famous living root bridges. Once you’ve roamed around to your heart’s content, hop back on and begin the ride back home.
