1. Discover history at Champaner
Did you know you stay just 50 km away from a UNESCO World Heritage Site? Champaner is a very important town from the Chavda dynasty, and was the site for its downfall as well. The place has many historical leftovers from that era.
To get there, you need to go by the State Highway 87. You can zip through it, and ask your wife to close her eyes and feel the wind in her face. Soon, you will reach Halol – take a right to reach Champaner via SH180.
The history starts before you hit the town proper, with the Tomb of Sikandar Shah. Once you reach, you should ride to the Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park – here you will see stunning ruins and monuments of an era long gone. You will see the transition from Hindu to Muslim architecture here too. Apart from this, you will see the Jama Masjid. The city is walled as well, you can take a ride around it.
After you soak in a slice of history, share a plate of pani-puri and head back out on the highway, with the evening sun on your happy faces!
