Bajaj motorcycles sales grew 24% owing to the strong performance of its 125cc+ DTS-i portfolio; combined sales of Pulsar, Avenger, Discover, and XCD grew 34%.
| |
| 2. |
Consequently, in the 125cc+ segment which is now approximately 36% of the motorcycle industry, Bajaj continues to lead with a market share of approximately 50%.
| |
| 3. |
Bajaj’s immediate strategy is to introduce 4 well positioned 125cc+ motorcycles in FY09 in its endeavour to expand the 125cc+ segment to represent 50% of the industry by March’09. |
| |
| 4. |
Lackluster market conditions continue to cause degrowth in Commercial Vehicles.
| |
| 5. |
Strong export growth is expected to continue this year with exports expected at over 800,000 units. |
